Ilegales "La Morena" Vinyl 12" Single (1995 BMG US Latin Records pressing)

Ilegales is a group of Merengue Hip-House, Latin Pop, Pop Ballad & Tropical Music. Founded by Vladimir Dotel, Álvaro Guzmán, Anthony Cruz (10) and Jason González, in 1993 in the Dominican Republic. The group started as a quartet and is currently a trio.

The first year of the group's creation, it served for the immediate incursion of their songs. Which is why they released "La Morena" and their simple "Fiesta Caliente". These songs were awarded at Acapulco Fest, Premios Eres, Grammy Latino and ASCAP Awards.

In 1995, the group finally released their first album to a fanfare of anticipation. Their self-titled release, "Ilegales" catapulted the group to international status as one of the founding fathers of the new Latin Urban genre known as, "Merengue Hip-House".

With the replacement of Álvaro Guzmán with new member Rafael "Raffy" Rivera; they continued their innovative foray into romantic music; with songs such as "Sólo Me Queda" and "Me Haces Falta". The feverishly hard hitting songs; "Sueño Contigo (Dreaming Of You)" and "El Taqui Taqui "; from their second album, released March 1997, "Rebotando".

On January 15, 1998; a tragic automobile accident took the life of founding member; Jason González. Jason González was the center of several tributes by the group in honor of their fallen friend and brother in music. (Discogs)
