A Blaze in the Northern Sky, released in 1992 by Peaceville Records, is the second studio album by Norwegian band Darkthrone and one of the defining records of early Norwegian black metal. Coming after the death-metal sound of Soulside Journey, the album marked a dramatic shift toward a rawer, colder, and more intentionally primitive style that helped shape the sound and attitude of the genre.
